How Updates Work
- Tota checks for updates automatically on launch (when enabled), using the open-source Sparkle framework.
- Updates are hosted on GitHub and every update is cryptographically signed — the app only installs updates that verify against Tota's signing key.
- A manual Check for Updates button is available in Settings > About.
License Gating
Update checks require an active license or an active trial. If your trial has expired or your license is inactive, the update button is disabled. Renew or activate a license to resume receiving updates.
