Tota watches what you type after a transcription is pasted and automatically learns corrections for future use.
How It Works
- After text is pasted, Tota watches the text field for 15 seconds (1-second intervals).
- Changes made and left for 2 seconds are captured and saved.
- You can undo from the on-screen correction card or delete entries in the Dictionary tab in Tota.
Once a correction is learned, Tota automatically applies it to future transcriptions. Dictating into a terminal (like Claude Code) won't teach the dictionary shell output or screen junk — that noise is filtered out.
Manual Learn Shortcut
Press Cmd+Shift+D (default) to immediately commit the current field edits without waiting for the 2-second debounce.
Correction Card
Each learned correction appears in a card at the bottom of your screen for 8 seconds, with an Undo button per correction and an Undo All button when several are learned at once. Hovering over the card pauses the dismissal timer.
Settings
All correction settings live in Settings > Corrections:
- Smart corrections — master switch for applying dictionary and custom word fixes. Turn off to keep the raw transcription.
- Automatically learn corrections — turn off to learn only via the Cmd+Shift+D shortcut.
- Correction threshold — occurrences required before a word swap is applied (1–10, default: 2). Edit corrections like "recieve → receive" apply immediately.
