Activating a License
- Purchase a license from the Tota website.
- Open Settings > About.
- Enter your license key and click Activate.
Each key supports a limited number of machines. To move to a new Mac, deactivate the license on the old machine first (Settings > About > Deactivate) — activating on a new machine when the limit is reached shows an activation-limit error. Entering a different key on the same machine replaces the previous one automatically.
License keys and instance identifiers are stored securely in the macOS Keychain.
Validation
- Tota validates your license online every 24 hours.
- If you are offline, a 7-day grace period allows continued use without validation.
- After 7 days offline, you will need an internet connection to re-validate.
Trial Details
- The trial starts on first launch and lasts 14 days.
- All features are available during the trial.
Expired Licenses
- When a yearly license expires, the app keeps working — only updates and support pause. Renew to resume receiving updates.
- An expired trial disables all functionality until a license is activated.
